Tech Meets Wildlife: Safeguarding Busch Wildlife Sanctuary with Outdoor Security Cameras and Wireless Access Points

Updated: 6 days ago

Keeping an eye on the animals at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is essential. After all, the mission of the 19-acre sanctuary is to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife while educating the public about the environment surrounding us. That’s why we’re highlighting Front Row Theater’s role in installing outdoor security cameras and wireless access points at the sanctuary.

See how we supported Bush Wildlife Sanctuary’s mission by installing and connecting the best outdoor security cameras to ultra-reliable wireless internet.

Safety Begins with Outdoor Security Cameras

19 acres of buildings and habitats means there are many opportunities for wireless signals to be disrupted or dropped entirely. That’s unacceptable for Busch Wildlife Sanctuary since knowing where animals are always is vital to public safety.

Plus, monitoring the animal’s health while also supporting interactive exhibits for the public is essential to operations. Lastly, making sure that all entrances to exhibits are monitored and controlled through a reliable access control system was a must for the sanctuary to ensure that neither the animals nor visitors accidentally put themselves in danger.

That’s why they came to Front Row Theater for help installing and supporting the best outdoor

Connectivity Through Wireless Access Points

Our very own John Marrero reviewed the layout of the facility and then recommended a network made up of high speed, high bandwidth wireless access points combined with wired connectivity.

To connect each building and habitat, the project required:

  • Nearly 6,000 linear feet of fiber optic cable connected to local Wi-Fi networks.

  • More than 16,000 linear feet of low-voltage cabling linking security cameras, point-of-sale tablets, computers, and more.

Thanks to the flexibility of wireless access points and the custom nature of the network, sanctuary employees can now seamlessly connect their devices to the core network. However, once in a wildlife habitat their devices disconnect from the WiFi to ensure there are no distractions when working around animals.
